Vegetables
Each year we plan and plant nearly 70 different vegetable cultivars. We grow tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, squash, onions, leeks, beans, beets, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, turnips, radishes, carrots and many more. Most of these we also sell as garden starts in the spring. We do sell vegetables from the farm, but primarily we sell our produce at farmer's markets. We love supporting our local community with great quality food!
Garlic
One of our passions is growing Yugoslavian hard neck garlic. Each year in October we plant thousands of cloves, and as the snow melts, tender garlic shoots emerge as one of the first greens. In June we harvest the scapes, (the seed stem from each plant) which we use to make Garlic Scape Pesto and also Garlic Scape Powder. Later in July is the garlic harvest, when the garlic is pulled from the ground and stored out of the sun and rain, with lots of air flow. This curing process takes about three weeks after which each bulb is cleaned, trimmed and graded. After that we are ready to head off to the BC garlic festivals. We are sure to save what we need as seed stock to plant again in October!
Biochar
Biochar is biology and charcoal. It is a nutrient rich, biologically charged soil enhancer, made from a combination of living organisms and pure carbon.
The biological component in biochar comes from the microbiology found in any vegetative compost. The charcoal in biochar is made from any organic matter that is “burnt” without the presence of oxygen and therefore not reduced to ash. They are mixed with water to facilitate the saturation of the charcoal with the biological material.
Biochar can be added to any soil: seedling trays, potted plants, or direct to gardens. It can be top-dressed but is most effective mixed in. It is recommended to have at least 1% Biochar in overall soil volume.
Biochar is good for generations, as it sequesters carbon into the soil for literally hundreds of years! The charcoal acts like a sponge for the growth and storage of microorganisms which are vital in the production and transfer of nutrients to plants in a form that is readily bioavailable.

Pigs
On our farm we raise pigs for many reasons. They help make short work of weeds and garden extras and clear land when needed. Each spring and fall we raise piglets for sale as well. We have a mix or Yorkshire, Landrace, Berkshire and Duroc breeds, which give us pigs that are cold hardy and heat tolerant as well as genetically robust.
Hay
Along with hay sales from our own land, we also provide custom field work, including plowing, discing, harrowing, seeding and custom small square bale haying.
Markets
You can find us each week from April to October at the Enderby Farmers Market on Friday mornings and the
Armstrong Farmers Market on Saturday mornings. In addition to our weekly offerings, we attend four garlic festivals each summer:
Grindrod Garlic Festival
South Cariboo Garlic Festival
Revelstoke Garlic Festival
Lower Nicola Garlic Festival

Value Added Products
With the hundreds of pounds of garlic scapes we pick every June, we make Garlic Scape Pesto! Our pesto is hypoallergenic, being nut-free, dairy-free and gluten-free. We also make garlic scape powder, a fresh mild garlic flavor you can add to any savory dish.
Our other favorite farm food is our Apricot Habanero Jelly which we make using our own sweet and hot peppers. This jelly has a delectable fruity heat that will compliment any meat dish, such pork chops or chicken wings, as well as adding a delightful zip to your salads and sandwiches. Of course it's also wonderful as part of a baked brie dish!
